President Donald Trump announced Friday that White House chief of staff Susie Wiles would be leaving her role this week and would be replaced by deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.

President Donald Trump responded to this week’s GOP drubbing by initially suggesting that he might soften his approach, expressing openness to collaborating with Democrats.

Wiles, the first woman to hold the top White House staff role, was instrumental in Trump’s comeback win in 2024, and the president has blamed her for the Republicans’ rout in this week’s midterms.
